How can you spend $30?

The average allowance U.S. parents give their children for doing chores and helping around the house is $30 a week.
That’s a lot more than it was just two years ago, when the average allowance was $17, according to a survey by the 360 Financial Literacy Organization.
The group said parents give their children allowance to teach them money management skills — and to pay them for doing chores.
Youth mostly spend their allowance on outings with friends, snacks and electronics.
